The department "Economic Development and Good Governance (EDGG)" is simplifying its name to "Economic Growth and Governance (EGG)". The new name reflects donor terminology and it is easier and more memorable.

 
The change goes along with greater clarity about the services offered by the department. For economic growth – improving the environment and support for small business, promoting innovation and competitiveness and enhancing trade; and for governance – public sector reform, decentralisation, public, finance, civil society, human rights and justice.
