Task description:

The overall objective of the Europe-African Business Forum (EABF) is to boost EU-Africa trade integration and sustainable investment flows with a focus on sectors covered by the Global Gateway and flagship actions of the EU-Africa Summit. The specific objective of this Action is to increase public-private and business partnering in key areas for EU-Africa sustainable development.

The key expert 2 (EABF events and public-private dialogue expert) will be in charge of ensuring the implementation of components 1 and 2, which are the organisation of the EABF main events in 2025 and 2028 and the sectoral dialogues of prioritised value chains.

The expert is expecting to travel to Sub-Saharan African countries and to regularly go to Brussels. 

Qualifications:

Qualifications and skills:

  • BA/BS degree (or equivalent diploma) in economics, finance, business, or a social science matter, engineering, arts, or any other equivalent studies;
  • MSc and PhD degrees will be an asset;
  • Strong knowledge of English (equivalent to C1 level) and good command of French (equivalent to B2 level).

General professional experience: 

  • Experience of at least 7 years working with EU and/or African business and facilitating public-private relations;
  • Experience of at least 5 years organising business and/or public-private dialogue events.

Specific professional experience: 

  • Demonstrated management experience in organising large business and/or public-private dialogue events at high level of interlocution of at least 5 years;
  • Demonstrated experience of at least 5 years in facilitating public-private dialogue groups with policy-oriented discussions.
