Sustainable Land Management Programme V (SLM V): Integrated Catchment Restoration of Lake Chamo Basin
Task description:
Overall project management as per KfW standards and requirements;
Financial management of the FC funds and all project financial transactions (disbursements, accounting, financial reporting etc.);
Procurement of goods and services to be financed under the project;
Ensure adequate planning and coordination of all staff and other inputs and services to be provided by the Consultant;
Guidance and supervision of the Consultant’s team;
Ensure effective communication and liaison between the project implementing agencies at national, regional and Woreda levels;
Manage and implement the financial pool resources designated for carrying out short-term consultancies;
Design and implement a system for monitoring and evaluating progress of financial and physical implementation;
Supervise overall programme progress by following up of overall programme planning and implementation in terms of time, budgets, availability and use of programme resources etc.;
Ensure regular and timely reporting on all matters as required, particularly, ensure establishment of internal and external reporting system, and preparation of periodic progress reports; and also, physical achievements reports on six monthly basis.
Qualifications:
Profile requirements:
M.Sc. in a natural resource management, agricultural economy or related field;
At least 15 years of an overall professional experience, including some years as team leader or chief technical advisor;
At least 10 years of a financial management experience (preferably in the context of KfW or World Bank projects);
A proven record and work experience with sector investment projects or programmes, preferably in the agriculture and / or rural development sectors;
Practical work experience in projects or programs of natural resources management, in general, and integrated watershed development and management;
Familiarity with participatory approaches to project planning, implementation as well as monitoring and evaluation; an excellent communication skills;
Long-standing work experience with managing projects and programs financed by international development agencies; experience with projects and programs financed by KfW or World Bank is required;
Relevant country and regional experience would constitute an extra mark.
